Real Christians aren’t assholes
In High School I had a friend who was super religious, her whole family was. Despite this, she was pro-marriage equality, pro-choice, and never once tried to convert me or make me feel bad about my own religious decisions (I was and still am an agnostic). She was always kind, and treated everyone with respect, regardless of race, religion, or orientation. For her the heart and soul of being a Christian was to love others and treat others with dignity. She was a real Christian.
I’m proud to have this kind of Christian in my life.
wow… Christians are so much more than what you view them as. You look at religious people and call them Christians. A true Christian is loving everyone, but loving God most. It means valuing human life and caring about people. I am a true Christian, I believe in the sanctity of marriage and life. Because human life is so precious, I am against abortion and war for that matter. Just because I don’t support gay marriage, it doesn’t mean I don’t love people despite of their life choices. Being a Christian means loving someone despite of their sins, their mistakes. Jesus loved people despite their sins and offered them a way towards living better. There are so many people in the world who claim to be Christians but honestly, to be a Christian is not just a lifestyle, but a relationship. So stop judging the real Christian people who honestly give a shit about people who have had abortions, who made the decision to live a homosexual life style, who suffer from mental problems, etc. Christians are called to love, but love does not equal accepting someone’s lifestyle is you don’t agree with it.
